Making Waves Musically
OriginWave's community service stormed the field of music this year in the month of March. Sangam Kala group is a prominent non-commercial registered cultural group which is engaged in the promotion of India's artistic cultural tradition for the past 34 years. The sole purpose is to promote light music and to hold a 'never before' competition among the mushrooming classical singing competitions. Every year competitions are held all around the country and the best converge is held in Delhi for an All India Finals.
The organization has produced renowned play back singers like Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Akriti Kakkar to name a few. The Chennai chapter itself has contributed singers like Chinmayi, Harini, and Haricharan. This year OriginWave took over the entire sponsorship of the Chennai chapter. The state championship was held in the month of March and there were about hundred and twenty five participants. Eminent judges chose 5 participants to represent the Chennai chapter at the All India semi finals and two of them reached the finals. Next year OriginWave plans to introduce the competition in various districts of Tamilnadu.
